As an LGBTQ+ owned business, Not Just North is deeply committed to creating spaces where everyone can feel safe, seen, and celebrated. That's why we're proud to be an official member of the Safe Space Alliance.

What is the Safe Space Alliance?

The Safe Space Alliance is a LGBTQI+ led nonprofit organization that aims to help people identify, navigate, and create safe spaces for LGBTQI+ communities worldwide. Being part of the Safe Space Alliance is being part of a global and collaborative safe space community.

For us at Not Just North, this membership reflects our core mission of "Encompassing Diversity through Art" and our passion for helping people feel seen and heard in their differences.

What is a safe space?

A safe space is a space where LGBTQI+ communities can freely express themselves without fear. It is a space that does not tolerate violence, bullying, or hate speech towards LGBTQI+ communities.

A safe space does not guarantee 100% safety, rather, it's a space that has your back if an incident (violence, bullying, or hate speech) were to occur.

Our Safe Space Commitment in Action

At Not Just North, our commitment to being a safe space shapes everything we do:

  • In our creations: We design handcrafted items that celebrate LGBTQI+ identities and experiences
  • In our communications: We use inclusive language that respects diverse gender identities and expressions

Our upcoming Pride Collection (launching June 1st) particularly embodies this commitment, with each piece thoughtfully designed to celebrate pride and inclusion.
